Before everyone gets all excited about this win, It should be noted that the Canadians played without Kovalev, Tanguay, Lang, and Brisebois. That is similar to the Pens playing without Crosby, Sykora, Kennedy and Whitney and we all know how the Pens did with missing players….The aggressive offense looked great, but are the defense (espically with Letang being a healthy scratch) and the goaltender ready to step up and stop the oppostions response?

This isn’t the WWF, either. Booby Clarke and the Broad Street Bullies haven’t won a Stanley Cup for so long the replays are shown on the history channel.
Malkin and Crosby don’t take shit from any of them. They walked over them in the playoffs last year and it wasn’t because of BGL. Like you said, it isn’t figure skating and the Penguins are tough enough to stand up to them and again with the Capitals (and Brashear) after a(good rest) on the train ride!
The whole Flyer thing is pretty much a myth and if they dress Cote and Asham who can’t play hockey worth a lick – good for them. It’ll be like dressing Hatcher.

This isn’t figure skating! The Flyers take Goddard out in the first five minutes and without Bissonette, they beat the crap out of Malkin & Crosby. That’s what they’ve done every game this year, except for the last one. If they had someone else on the team to stand up for them that would be great, but they don’t. Where is Ulf when you need him?

I don’t think they need Bissonnette. Yesterday we saw the Godard vs. Laraque which was reminiscent of the Chara/Laraque dance from last year. Laraque has turned into a pretty much a pussy and Godard probably will have to dance with Riley Cote a screw-loose Flyer and once that gets out of the way we will see a good hockey game.
Saturday’s game they’ll be fresh again. These are young kid’s. The train ride to WASH DC will pump them up some more – like they need pumped-up.
What’s did Al Davis say, “Just win, Baby!” The turkey’s on the table.
