Gonchar is that good, but he is 35, and injuries are starting to occur. If GoGo can run the PP then yeah maybe Ray should take a look a trading him. Looking in the future the cap will drop, free agent wingers- not that many in the summer 2010- Ilya Kovalchuk,no Keith Tackuk too old,Milan Hedujk maybe, he’s 33 though
Ray has got some tough decisions this year as far as personnel goes.

I for one would like to see Gonchar stay. With both Gonchar and Goligoski backing up Malkin & Crosby’s line seperately, it creates two lines with defense that can break them out, that would be amazing, most teams don’t have one. I think that’s why we won 9 of ten to start the season. Gonchar probably has three more good seasons in him – we traded Paul Coffee thinking his career was over and he was a top 3 defenceman in the league for about 5 more seasons. Don’t make that mistake.
