Is it possible that Shero is lining something up that would bring a guy like Gaborik or Cheechoo without dealing Staal? Maybe he could get something like that for draft picks and prospects…………..I wonder.

Remember that the CBA has been extended that the “Bonus Cushion” can be used to pay the remaing Bonus’s on Malkin and Staal’s entry contracts. This frees up an additional 3.7 Million. Anyone can be had for the remainder of this year. Next year will be the problem for someone like Gaborik
After looking at the cap numbers which are obviously coming into play or Satan wouldn’t have been waived. Gaborik might be an impossible trade without Staal. Cheechoo and Antropov seem like the most likely candidates. San Jose might just want to do away with Cheechoo’s salary. Satan is playing tonight for the Penguins, I imagine we will hear nothing until after the game.
