Now that I have been “called out”, I guess I will have to make some predictions. I certainly do not consider myself a gypsy, to be sure. And, I have to warn you, I am a horrible prognosticator. (this is why I write the game reviews) Therefore, in picking the Pens to win in 5 games, I could be putting the whammy on them. Well, hopefully it will just prolong their or shorten the time it takes the Pens to closeout the series.

I like going up against the big names, I also think the name of this contest is stupid, just like the rest of these people. I didn’t have a clue what people were talking about before even though I was in the contest. If they said the DR HOOK contest I would have known. I vote to rename it.

I like the idea and have found the first round predictions from Barry Melrose, Matt Barnaby, Al Strachan (Toronto Sun and HNIC personality), Steve Ludzik, Mark Osborne, John Buccigross and a few others. Shocking that using our scoring system they are not doing so well. They would most all be in our bottom third. If anyone could find Molinari’s and Starkey’s for the first round please post it here. Thanks in advance. I’m having a problem finding them via google searches.

Hey HOOK . . . I like KULT SKATES idea of searching out some of the experts who get paid to make the predictions. Maybe we all can search them and get their picks in the mix. Some of the media people are like the weather forcasters who never get checked in public.

I know my entry into the gypsy contest is a little late. Here is how I see the first round. Advancing in the East I see the Bruins, Capitals, Penguins, and Hurricanes. With the Hurricanes winning in the last minute of the seventh game. In the West I will pick the Red
Wings, Canucks, Blackhawks, and Ducks. I feel pretty confident about these choices. Instead of picking who I think will win. I am going to pick who I want to win. That would be the four lower seeds. Peunguins, Hurricanes, Blackhawks, and Ducks. All in six

MS Forczech I’m in:

Carolina in 6, Pens in 5 (easily), Detroit in 7, Chicago in 6 (though I read Toews didn’t practice 2day)

I also want to go on record wondering why a poll on a PITSSBURGH PENGUIN site is named after some stupid comment some Montreal Canadian player made. I think it needs renamed – It’s not 2 late.

Also – I don’t think DR HOOK or Boombastic looked into the possibility that the MS in MS Forczech – might stand for Martin Straka or maybe you two did. boom boom! LOL

Just a suggestion but you might want to consider including some of the so-called experts that get paid to publish these type predictions. Like the local guys and The Hockey News, TSN.ca, the Toronto Star, Ottawa Sun, etc……….. just a suggestion.
