As to Therrien… he’s the first coach being canned here that I question it. He took a team who finished last to the top and you don’t lose that when the roster gets smacked. This was almost a new team with Malone, Hossa, Hall, Roberts, Conklin, Laraque, and Rutuu gone. Add Whitney and Gonchar to the not available to play and Therrien had a 40% turnover and then add to that the minor camp and screwy scheduling in Europe to start the season. Maybe I’m too sentimental with this one but I think they should have kept him on until the end of the season at least.
BTW, Bill Cowher is the only Steeler coach to lose a Super Bowl.
