I think a smart move by Shero right now would be to dump Gonchar. The moon-walk on the blue-line isn't getting the job done anymore as the PP has just about totally fizzled-out. However, in a trade they have to get something defensive back in return. Has Letang really earned a raise? I'm not so sure. he certainly hasn't risen to his press clippings of a few years back. Goligoski has been having brain camps with the puck himself. Eaton, Skoula, McKee - they can be resigned and wouldn't be for too much but are the THAT much better than what we have on the farm. I think they should start working in more players from WB/S and not only defensemen.

And don't forget Brian Strait and Deryk Engelland as well as Robert Bortuzzo. With those three and Simon Despres a couple of years away, the Pens will be loaded with solid d-men for years to come.
