I’m not worried about Ruslan coming back, but Ray has to sign Scuderi Tonight. Don’t want him hitting the open market, I’ll bet he would stay at the same price as Billy.

I agree about Scuderi. I used capgeek.com (great sight by the way) to generate a team for next year. If you put Caputi and Dustin Jeffrey on the roster, add RFAs Tim Wallace, Ben Lovejoy, and John Curry at 10% raises, you are left with $2.2 million for Scuderi. That seems like a reasonable number for him, especially because Gonchar’s cap number will go down next year if he is resigned or extended. I would guess a 3 to 5 year term for Scuderi at that price.

I love these moves. Guerin is too big a leader in the locker room to let him leave. He takes some of the leadership pressure off of Crosby, and Sid likes having him there.
I wanted Adams signed from day one. He is an excellent and quick-thinking defensive forward that can control the puck in key situations.
These signings might be tip-offs that Fedotenko and some other forwards such as Kunitz are on their way out though. Still waiting on a defensive signing, which I think can now still be Rob. Gill is most likely gone in my opinion. I love Shero.

Yeah, as it turns out, when the dust settled, the amount of Guerin’s deal that goes against the cap is only 2 million. The rest will be in incentives.

Guerin for $2 million even. Scuderi still a possibility, but would have to take a discount (around $2.1 cap hit to be able to still fill the rest of the roster). Let’s just hope that the Leafs don’t think he is Jeff Finger and make some ridiculous offer.
