Art, I think he would be considered, though I don’t know if he would get a “C” anywhere. I don’t think that anyone can deny Orpik’s leadership skills. I just think a lot of teams are hesitant to put someone who is both outspoken and honest out there as their frontman. Personally, I really wish that teams would.

The remark about Orpik’s qualifications being summed up by “The Shift” was my attempt at wit. Bear with me…I’m playing the “new” card.

I think that Orpik has always had leadership for qualities for the other reasons that I mentioned, but I completely agree with you that his experience at the Olympics seemed to really take him to another level.

When Orpik came back from the Olympics he was a changed player breeming with confidence & leading the team. He deserves the ‘A’ more than Staal.
