You’re not kidding about whatever he hits he destroys. Even when he gets jumped, he stays on his skates, takes a few, and commences the pounding. Guys like that are incredibly valuable in the AHL, but I’m not sure it completely translates to a first rounder for an NHL club.

No way. We don’t really need to stockpile up another 1st rd. pick on a d-man. I agree with Evilpens at the bottom. If Kubanov is available you’ve got to take a chance on him. Other than Tangradi and maybe Johnson the Pens have no prospects at wing.

It would take forever for a winger to be ready to play, probably even longer for a defenseman. Draft the best available player, don’t try to fit him into the lineup. The main lineup is set for years to come and the pens will not have enough money to sign a prospect to a lengthy term anyway. Use the best draft you can get as for a trade. In ten to fifteen years the Pens can draft for position again.

I agree with you to a point. The Hockey News says the knock on him is he has a bad attitude. Who ever the Penguins take in the 1st will not be NHL ready for at least 3 years, by that time no ones for sure what the Penguins will need by then. If he slides in the second round then take him.
