Not only that, but if Washington is eliminated, the Pens are guaranteed Home Ice Advantage should/when they advance to the Conference Finals. No matter what though, the Penguins can not get home ice in the Stanley Cup Finals as all of the remaining teams in the Western Conference finished the season with more than the Penguins’ 101 points.

I think you need to take into consideration that if we are playing the Habs, then Washington and their Presidents trophy have been eliminated first round. That could be reason enough to want to face Montreal. Though if they could knock of the Caps could we be next???
