Great writeup, Phil. I miss the old Matt Cooke, too. However, there’s no question he’s a marked man. The NHL’s just waiting for an excuse to suspend him. I agree wholeheartedly, though, that the Pens are lacking in the enforcement department. Engelland’s become too valuable—especially with the recent run of injuries on ‘d’—to have him fighting all the time. Pound-for-pound Asham’s as tough as they come. But you can’t expect him to take on heavyweights. MacIntyre’s a truly fearsome fighter, but Bylsma simply refuses to play him. Not to flog a dead horse, but the Pens need a big, tough guy who can play. Someone like … Mike Rupp.

No, please. The guys mentioned in the article are all enforcers. Cookie is (well, was) a pest. There’s a difference.
