Kris Versteeg traded to Phili for draft choices,Power forward Chris Stewart and rookie defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk traded to the Blues for Erik Johnson,Tampa Bay adds star defenseman Eric Brewer, Boston adds veteran defenseman Kaberle,Montreal added another d man,Thrashers pick up two good players from Boston.
My point is that rest of the NHL are adding depth to their line ups getting ready for a play off push and our Penguins are really Wilkkes Barrie in disguise. Given the current injury situation there is very little Shero can do without blowing up the team. I really believe that unless Sid comes back soon , it will be tough for us to get past the first round of the playoffs. The team is really trying its best, but with 8 to 10 players out at one time it is going to be tough for us.

Arnott would make the most sense,he's a big body, can play either wing or center, got tons of play-off experience.

I wouldn't mind seeing Umberger join the Pens, but from what I read, they would want Goligoski. Would hate to see the Pens trade him,for 1.8 million, the guy is great, logs big minutes, and got a decent plus/minus. Also read lately that the Jackets don't want to move him.

As for Versteeg, please god no,I've watched the Leafs play a lot this season, and he's nowhere near the player he was in Chicago,he isn't worth the 3 million.

Hemsky would be a gamble,he's often injured, and is super expensive, and apparently the Oilers are looking for a 1st round pick and prospect.

Still would love to see the Pens land either Stephen Weiss or Devon Setgouchi, however I don't see their teams trading either player, and the Pens would have to give up a lot in return.

Headed to Toronto in 2 weeks to see the Pens play the Leafs,it will mark my first ever NHL game, and I'll be living my childhood dream of seeing Pittsburgh play. I just wonder if there will be any new faces on the team by then.

Great read! I enjoy the blog!

Very good read. And yes, I've said Arnott till I'm blue in the face. A Bill Guerin type deal or deals. I see no bodies leaving as well.
