Resolve? The word this moronic columnist is looking for is “resort” – resolve is another word, and maybe they’ll cover that next year when you’re in 9th grade.

I lived in Pittsburgh for 15 years and just moved, and I am truly embarrassed by the fact that not a single person on this board recognized that the writer is, well, as dumb as the posters. Him and his “game played by men” false bravado baloney. Not sure what it is for which he is compensating with the “tough guy” thing, but boy, it must be major.

Alright, Dougy, since everything hockey-related has been said here, let me take you to school on something else: how wrong you are about the preposition thing. That is a linguistic superstition invented by 17th-century English poet John Dryden simply because he thought that a preposition always takes a PRE POSITION (clever, huh?) and should always go in front of something. It’s not really a rule of grammar, and if your 9th grade teacher beat that into you, please write a letter to the school district because s/he is just teaching what s/he thinks is English. Oh, and if you’re going to try to burn someone on spelling instead of hockey knowledge, of which you clearly have little since your input advanced the discussion in exactly 1 way—this little English lesson here—please don’t misspell the second word of your comment. It makes you look even sillier and more wrong.

As for the moron above your comment, Shultzie, guess he has to change his screen name now. Appears the Pens beat the Flyers yesterday and will again in the playoffs. Easy to be a tough guy on the internet Sparky, but I’m sure if your mom knew what you were doing, she’d come down to your room in the basement and take away your internet access. Perhaps if you someday learn how to properly use the English language, I will meet you in the alley of your choosing, and you’ll be the only one crawling away with a spotless time piece.

I don’t get this, coming on here and calling people names and taking any of this shit seriously. It’s just a damn hockey game. Whining is as much a part of hockey as cheap shots to the back of the head. Anyone who roots for any team can go down the roster of that team and find whiners, cheap shot artists and enough bullshitters to start another league. That’s hockey. Milbury, Berube and Tortorella can say whatever they want. Who cares? It’s entertainment. Their rants put asses in seats and eyes on giant flat-screen TVs — plus increase the sales of bars in every hockey town in the country. There’d be no NHL if no one was watching. I read these posts and I think these people actually feel like their going out on the ice and scoring one for the team when all they’re doing is whining and delivering another cheap shot sans a hockey stick — the same things they’re bitching about in the first place. Gretzky and Lemieux whined their whole careers. So what? Everybody whines. It’s theater. It’s entertainment. It ain’t going away any time soon. Do you know why? Because we buy tickets and jerseys and even toilet paper embossed with team logos. We don those jerseys and glue ourselves to those 62 inch flat screens every night of the week. We come on blogs like this and whine some more. Eventually we’ll all be dead and buried and if hockey is still being played, there will be whiners on every team in the league and whiners on every blog on the net, or maybe I should say, “the cloud.” And after all the whining is whined, you’re team will win only if they score more goals than the other team and not because you called some guy from Pittsburgh a dick.

So you run your mouth about Neuvirth going down. You think the Caps cant pull through, I really hope they surprise the hell out of you and shut all of you up. I have seen Malkin whine once. Ill give him credit for being one of the top players in the league. Crosby is fast and has talent but he does whine. He takes cheap shots on anyone he can, the only reason there hasnt been a fight between OV and him is because everytime they get close the NHL protects is whiny ass and stops it.

Dave your are going to love this. New on the internet. Dictionary.com. It can tell you what the word “resolve” means. It can also tell you what other words over one syllable mean like for instance the word “poser”. I’m sure you are a really really good jock. It sounds like you might be one of those fans that read this moron writer. Crosby won the Gold, won the cup and is a world class athelete, not sure he is as good as you are though. BTW, congrats on living in Pittsburgh.
