87Fan. Are you watching the same damn game as the normal people are? Crosby came from behind and started to pull down Hartnell in a “horse collar” fashion. After he started to THEN push and shove with crosby, Adams came in and while Hartnell was engaged, started throwing punches. THATS the reason for the penalty. The fact it was in the last 5 mts was the reason for the suspension and fine. To prevent asshole coaches from sending out goons after a game is well decided to exact revenge. Oh wait. You’re still missing the point… it doesn’t matter what Simmonds or Hartnell or Crosby or anyone else did… none of them dropped the gloves and started a fight. The first person to drop their gloves and start swinging was Craig Adams, and he did it with someone who was already engaged with someone else.

It’s not open to your interpretation, Craig Adams instigated the fight, and is automatically suspended, period. If Simmonds had skated out and dropped his gloves against an unaware/unwilling Neal, he would have been suspended. If Hartnell dropped his gloves against an unwilling/unaware player, he would have been suspended. The bottom line is that Craig Adams instigated a fight by dropping his gloves and swinging at an unprepared player, forcing the other player into a fight that might have otherwise not happened.

Get over it… the Penguins are the goons here, and for a change, everyone in America sees it too.

I’m familiar with rule 46.12. If you watch the video you will see berube sending simmonds out to instigate. Simmonds skates halfway across the ice and crosschecks Neal. Hartnell skates over to crosby and engages him. The problem is Pens fans easily accepting the Pens instigated this. the NHL is wrong. this is my first time on penguin poop? and looking at the stuff people blog here I apologize if i’m trolling a penguin hater blog.
