ART VANDELAY

Art Vandelay

I have been a Pittsburgh Penguin fan since the late 80′s. When I was young, I had enjoyed playing street hockey in the neighborhood like most kids my age. I have my father and the late locker room assistant Frank Sciulli most of all for making me the true Penguin Fan I am today. If it was not for Mr. Sciulli’s generosity and my father’s willingness to ask what was ever on his mind at the time, then I’m sure I would not have the pleasure of saying it was my father who was able to take me to my first game and to get me a signed Mario Lemieux stick directly from Mario. I will never forget how happy I was on both occasions. Thank you Dad and of course thank you Mr. Sciulli.

I am really for the most part no different than any other die hard Pittsburgh Penguin fan, or really any die hard hockey fan. I have had season tickets for the last ten years. In the last couple of years I have developed a unique friendship with Hersh Bornestein, the President of Frozen Pond Inc. www.frozenpond.com Hersh Borenstein runs a succesfull hockey memorabilia company based in Toronto, Ontario. Hersh has relationships with several of the current Pittsburgh Penguins as well as some former players most notably: Marc Andre Fleury and Kristopher Letang. Through my friendship with Hersh I was invited to Montreal last summer to watch Octagon’s informal training camp, as well as help set up several autograph appearances for Kris Letang.
