The free agent frenzy began at 12:01 with Jamaal Meyers signing with the Blackhawks for one year, and it hasn’t slowed down yet. Before noon, the Penguins announced that they had broken off negotiating with Jaromir Jagr, and instantly turned their attention to resigning Tyler Kennedy. Kennedy’s new deal was announced shortly aft [...]

I was extremely fortunate to be able to talk to Jay Grossman Presdient of the Puck Agency LLC. Some of the http://www.puckagency.com/ clients are Ilya Kovalchuk, Vezina trophy c [...]
Dan Bylsma won a well deserved Jack Adams award for “Coach of the Year”. Bylsma is the first Penguins coach to win the award. This is the video of his acceptance speech.
We had an idea Bylsma was going to win the award back in March, you can read about it here: Penguins Coach Bylsma Deserves Jack Adams Award Consideration
Well, here we are…the first day of the Stanley Cup Finals. It doesn’t matter what team you’re a fan of, there’s some excitement that comes as a hockey fan at this point in the playoffs. I think it has to do with a month and a half of waiting and anticipation finally coming down to the final two teams. I think it has [...]
Time to review my round 2 picks and look at my predictions for the Conference Finals. I went 75% again. Kudos again to the West for playing along! And, in the East, well…apparently no one told Tampa that they weren’t supposed to still be in the game. 😉
Again, not a whole lot for me to say about how things went in the West. I [...]

Backed by the shutout goaltending of 41-year-old marvel Dwayne Roloson and a timely tally by Sean Bergenheim, the Lightning staved off a late charge by the Penguins to take Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals set 1-0.
It was playoff hockey at its finest as the rivals treated the partisan crowd of 18,507 at CONSOL Energy Center to a [...]
I know it’s probably considered heresy in these parts to criticize Penguins coach Dan Bylsma. After all, the guy won a Stanley Cup in his first season behind the bench. He’s already won more playoff games than any other skipper in franchise history. A terrific motivator, he richly deserves the Jack Adams Trophy for keeping the team on course [...]
