This has to be one of the stupidest plays you will ever see in the NHL, and had it happened to a player on an opposing team, you would be looking at one hell of a suspension, I’m not sure what the penalty is for doing it to your own teammate though.
Keith Ballard almost decapitates Vokoun
Though the game did not have the kind of fireworks that I would have expected, given the way the game went Saturday, it was great to see the Pens hand it to their division rivals once again.
The Rangers did start the game with quite a bit of energy and determination. They dominated play for the first part of the first period. If not for the [...]
What an awesome spectacle it was being at night when Sid got his hat trick. It’s funny he wasn’t complaining to the refs about how long it took to clean up the mess this time.
Goligoski’s groin is acting up again, and apparently he will not play tonight.
I know it’s early, more like way too early, to get excited, but [...]
Marc-André Fleury celebrated his 25th birthday on Saturday by getting his 126th NHL win. Everyone who is keeping track (me & Marc-André’s mom) is aware that 126 wins is 7 wins more than NHL all time win leader Martin Brodeur had the day he turned 25. Congratulations & Happy Birthday.
Eric Godard is the Penguins go to guy on the [...]
Based on what I saw last night, tomorrow night’s rematch should be very interesting. Last night we saw the Penguins score 4 unanswered goals in the third period to thump the Rangers 8-3. During the course of the game, we saw a couple of fights including one where Ryan Callahan tried to retaliate for a hit that Cooke layed on one of his [...]
First of all, thanks to Krundle for bringing me onto the squad. That out of the way, I’ll begin my first poop (er.. post).
After reading JeanPronovost’s first post, I realized that my knowledge of the Penguins, while vast indeed, does not hold a candle to those who have seen them play since they entered the league in ’67. [...]
First off, I’d like to thank Reg for asking me to be a contributor to this great site. I’ve wanted to for a quite a while but could never seem to find the time to get anything written. Well, I have the time now, and look forward to being able to add anything I can to the other fine writers who contribute here regularly.
To start [...]
The Penguins overtime win in Florida provided the all of the answers needed to right the sinking powerplay ship that has been taking on water since December 23rd, 2008. Everybody and their mom have the answers to make the powerplay work, most of them revolve around firing Mike Yeo and letting Tony Granato coach it. Not a poor idea in itself c [...]
Who would of thought that it was Brooks Orpik’s return, not Gonchar & Talbot’s, that would fire the team up for a nice win. The Pens had a nice turn around from Thursday night’s loss to the Senators.
The first period in particular was very strong. The Pens came out flying. They had the Thrashers locked up in their o [...]
I would have bet that the return of Talbot alone would have been enough to energize the Penguins to a strong showing against the Senators tonight. With the enthusiasm and energy with which Talbot plays coming back into the line-up, one would think that the other players may feed off of that. Throw in the return of Gonchar and I am thinking [...]
