I must admit. Watching last night’s Penguins-Blues game on the big screen TV at the Pennsbury Pub and Grille, I was pulling like mad for goalie Marc-Andre Fleury to do well.
“I hope ‘Flower’ gets a shutout,” I repeated at least three or four times to my good friend, Dave Yelich, in an obvious breach of sports etiquette.

That was the only word I could think to utter as I watched Alex Ovechkin cut unimpeded into the slot and whip a bullet past Marc-Andre Fleury a mere 35 seconds into last night’s rivalry matchup between the Penguins and the Capitals.

The Penguins signed defenseman Olli Maatta to a six-year contract extension yesterday. The $24.5-million deal, which starts next season, will pay Maatta an average annual salary of $4.083 million through 2021-22.
