It sure is a wonderful time to be a Penguins fan. With a little help from friends Pascal Dupuis and Chris Kunitz, Sidney Crosby has reestablished himself as the finest player in the game. Our boys are making mincemeat out of the rest of the NHL to the tune of 14-straight wins. They’ve allowed only 9 goals in the past 10 games—including three [...]

Penguins Update: Time to Trade Malkin?
There was a time when the thought of trading superstar Evgeni Malkin would’ve seemed so preposterous that it wouldn’t have entered my mind. After all, we’re talking about a Hart Trophy winner and two-time NHL scoring champ—a player of such singular brilliance and magnitude that he’s already carved out a prominent place among the pantheon of S [...]

Penguins Update: History Repeating Itself
In nature everything runs in cycles. Seasons change from winter to spring to summer to fall, and back again. The same holds true in sports. Championship teams are cultivated and nurtured through a combination of drafts, trades and free-agent signings until they peak. Then they gradually diminish until they enter a rebuilding phase.

Penguins-Flyers Rivalry Part 5: Eric Lindros and the Legion of Doom (1994-2005)
Following a sorry sixth-place finish in 1991-92, the Flyers acquired the rights to phenom Eric Lindros from Quebec. Slowly but surely “the Next One” began to restore the Flyers to their former glory while centering the imposing “Legion of Doom” line for John LeClair and Mikael Renberg.
The Penguins were no patsies, either. Loaded with big-nam [...]

Gameday Poop: Pittsburgh Penguins vs Toronto Maple Leafs
The Penguins are taking on the red hot Toronto Maple Leafs this afternoon or this evening which ever one of those 5pm falls under and nothing is really at stake. If the Pens win it could mathematically eliminate the Leafs that are in last place, a place that they were so entrenched in that going 8-2 in the last 10 games hasn’t removed t [...]
